Message from the Center Director

I started working in the early learning Childhood sector in 2018. I joined the team at Brightly Early Learning – Box Hill in 2022. I hold a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care, Dual Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and School Age Education and Care.

Teaching has always been a calling from a very young and tender age as a young child being inspired by many passionate and dedicated educators around me during my schooling career.

Marita

After working in the Healthcare sector for over 13 years, I decided to follow my childhood passion for teaching and interacting with children leading to me pursuing my studies in Educational Psychology. With a hunger and drive for a more practical and hands on approach I made a decision to travel down the path of studying Early Childhood Education. This led me across the South African waters and to a place I now call home “Australia”.

I believe that children are central to everything that we do. We are inspiring and developing the young minds of the future and next generation of leaders in our country. I believe that every child is unique and should be treated as such therefore we facilitate environments which encourage children not only to have fun but to learn and grow into their future success.

We take pride in creating a caring and supportive environment where families feel comfortable leaving their children with us knowing that we would take great care of them. We aim to develop deep and meaningful connections with our families to develop a strong sense of community and support. We regularly hold celebrations on various occasions to bring our families together as a local community and to know each other even more.

We understand that starting a new centre can be overwhelming and that is why from the initial enquiry, we make sure that we address all your questions one by one. We walk families through all the forms of administration that are required and offer support in understanding Child Care Subsidy (CCS), centre schedules, facilities provided, curriculum provided, centre provisions and much more.

We look forward to welcoming you at Brightly Early Learning – Box Hill.

Message from the Educational Leader

There are two aspects to my role as an Educational Leader. I have a leadership role, building the curriculum, and developing the pedagogy within the service. I look at current research and how that might relate to us. The second part is working closely with the educators, creating those lightbulb moments. I love working with them to understand how theory impacts their practice. How they program and educate children daily. Help them develop critical reflection skills so they continually improve. Another big part of her role is helping educators understand the EYLF, and to promote professional learning and practice inquiry.

Marita

I believe the Educational Leader role is critical to developing a community of learners within a service. As an educational leader my role is one which is supportive towards my fellow colleagues in order to provide strong foundations for the ongoing learning and inspirational development in all aspects of life and improving the outcomes for children. My role is key in providing a catalyst to educators to be innovative, develop and extend the current development of their knowledge and further enhance their professional skills and capacities. I believe the Educational Leader role is critical to developing a community of learners within a service.

Community Engagement and Personalised Care

At Brightly Early Learning, Box Hill, we pride ourselves on fostering a strong sense of community and providing unique care and a personalised experience to every child and family we welcome into our community. We understand that each child is a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, and learning styles, and celebrate diversity! Box Hill childcare centre is more than just a place for watching children – it’s a warm and welcoming community where children, families, and educators come together to form meaningful connections and relationships.

Our commitment to community engagement extends beyond the walls of our centre. We actively involve families in their child’s learning journey, recognising that parents are their child’s first and most influential educators. Through regular in person communication, reflective practices, parent-teacher conferences, and family events, we strive to build strong partnerships with families, ensuring that they feel supported and valued as active participants in their child’s education and have the opportunity to provide their opinion and suggestions where applicable.

In addition to our focus on family engagement and connection, we’ve also built relationships with the broader community. We continuously collaborate with local organisations, businesses, and community groups to provide enriching and educational experiences for our children as we believe exposure to safe, fun and unfamiliar experiences accelerate their learning and understanding of the world. Whether it’s inviting guest speakers to share their expertise, organising community outings, or participating in charitable initiatives, we believe in the importance of fostering a sense of belonging and connectedness within our community. It’s critical that each child believes they belong.

Our commitment to personalised care means that we tailor our programs and practices to meet the individual needs and interests of each child. We understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued as an individual, respected, and supported. Our exceptional team of educators is committed to getting to know each child on a personal level, understanding their unique strengths, challenges, and preferences. Through this magnified personal connection, our educators can better support each child in flourishing – socially, mentally and physically.

By providing personalised care, we ensure that every child receives the attention, support, and encouragement they need to thrive. Whether it’s through one-on-one interactions, small group activities, or individualised learning plans, we are dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential.
